The V Room

A brand new concept from Virgin Holidays will be opening at Gatwick airport June 2008. The V Room is a dedicated lounge available exculsively to Virgin Clients. This comes complimentary for any clients booked  in to a platinum hotel.

For only £15 per adult and £10 per child. Infants under 2 go free, the V Room is available for clients up to 3 hours before departure flying to Florida, the Caribbean or Las Vegas.

There is a separate area for those adults that want to relax with a bit of peace and quiet before the flight. For the smaller children there is the family area which includes a soft play area and telescopes so the children can see out onto the runway and watch the aeroplanes come in.

Singapore Airlines A380

On 18th March 2008 The largest passenger aircraft in the world arrived in

London on its first commercial flight to Europe.

Singapore Airlines  Is the first airline to fly the A380 and currently the only airline to own the superjumbo. A virtual tour can be found on the website

The Airbus flight SQ 308 touched down at 2.50pm at Heathrow, where airport workers turned out to watch as fire engines gave it a water cannon salute as it taxied to its stand.

 

Passengers walked into Terminal 3 a brass band played “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines” and airline staffed handed out orchids.

 

Singapore Airlines believes its arrival after a 13-and-a-half hour flight marks the start of a new era in terms of facilities offered to first, business and economy class passengers.

With more that 100 entertainment options on board the aircraft inflight entertainment system, the Singapore airlines A380 experience is truly memorable and not to be missed.

The A380 is capable of carrying 555 passengers, but Singapore Airlines has configured its three aircraft to carry 471, made up of 12 in suites, 60 in business class and 399 in economy.
